A new fragment of film has appeared… what is it trying to tell you? Is there a message buried in the noise? Sometimes only A Shadow of this other world is all that can be seen, but only for a little while…

The Refresher

I feel so refreshed upon returning back from Los Angeles, no doubt due in part to “The Refresher” Pictured here in it’s natural habitat in Farmers Market, 3rd and Fairfax LA, CA. The Refresher has been Refreshing Angelinos for Decades, starting most likely in the early 1930’s. The black “wrought Iron” light fixtures and gate, plus the font on The Refresher sign leads me to believe it had a face lift in the late 1960’s.
Just think of all the people who may have been refreshed here over the years.

so now once again i have moved. This is the view of the rooftop world from out my window. “lower Nob Hill” is quite different from the Haight. Everything looks, sounds and feels different. In this new series of photos, i am trying to show scenes of a forgotten world, not the same San Francisco that everybody is so familiar with.
