Part one in a series.
The time I met Duggie Fields

In 1999 I was on an extended trip of Europe, and going to the Earls Court district of London. As it happens my friends Family knows him, and he still lives in the flat he once shared with Syd Barrett in the late 1960′s, and was gracious enough to allow a couple of longtime Syd obsessed fans into his home and painting studio. It turns out he paints in the room Syd made famous for painting the floorboards orange and blue, and it turned out i used the same type of camera at about the same time of day as the iconic picture was taken almost exactly 30 years before to wind up getting that same orange light and underexposed grainy texture. look at this A and B comparison:

There is a lot more stuff in the room now, but you can tell it’s the same room with the fire place and molding behind me as i sit on the floor.
